Wind Energy – Maasvlakte
Ballast Nedam and IQIP have reached an agreement on the delivery of an S-1400 Hydrohammer for the installation of 12 monopiles for the Maasvlakte 2 Wind Farm.
The start for the installation of the monopiles is planned for May 2022.
Maasvlakte 2 Wind Farm is being developed on the Maasvlakte 2 sea wall by energy company Eneco by order of Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.
The wind farm comprises 22 Vestas wind turbines with a combined installed capacity of 116.7 MW.
Ballast Nedam is responsible for the installation of the foundations for the Maasvlakte 2 Wind Farm on behalf of Eneco. Ten wind turbines will be installed with pile foundations on the hard sea wall, on top of the dike. Another twelve wind turbines are installed on the soft sea wall, on the beach.
