Funding for floating offshore wind

Wind Energy – UK funding

The UK Government has announced the 11 successful projects that will receive a total of more than £31m of public funding – which will be matched by more than £30m of private investment – under the Floating Offshore Wind Demonstration Programme. The funding will be used for the development of new technologies.

The recipients (with locations):

• JDR Cable Systems (Hartlepool) and the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (Blyth): £1,606,711

• Buoyant Production Technologies (Farnham) and the University of Southampton: £238,724

• AWC Technology Ltd (Aberdeen): £760,874

• Reflex Marine (Aberdeen) the University of Exeter, Bridon-Bekaert The Ropes Group (Doncaster) and Wood Thilsted (Godalming): £882,283

• London Marine Consultants (LMC) and the University of Plymouth: £264,924

• Copenhagen Offshore Partners (Edinburgh), SSE Renewables (Belfast), Maersk Supply Service (London) and Bridon-Bekaert The Ropes Group (Doncaster): £9,656,980

• Marine Power Systems (Swansea): £3,466,083

• Cerulean Winds (Guildford): £825,692

• SENSEWind (Cambridge), GEODIS | Freight Forwarding (Feltham), Xodus Group (Aberdeen) and the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (Blyth): £10,000,000

• Aker Solutions (London): £690,454

• Trivane (Newquay), London Marine Consultants (LMC), Keynvormorlift (Newquay) and Ledwood (Pembroke Dock): £3,268,058
