Wind energy – vibro hammer
On Friday 17 September, the world’s most advanced modular vibro hammer with an integrated lifting tool for the installation of monopile foundations for offshore wind farms was revealed at Breman Machinery in Genemuiden, the Netherlands.
Breman Machinery constructed and assisted with assembly of the so-called TRIPLE CV-640 VLT-U Vibro Lifting Tool (VLT) for the Dutch vibro-piling specialist CAPE Holland.
CAPE Holland’s Vibro Lifting Tool is a combination of a vibro hammer with a certified lifting tool with the ability of upending a stored pile in a vertical position, placing it overboard, and lifting it in the installation position. It can then drive the pile down quickly with significantly less noise emissions.
Soon the impressive looking tool will be transported by water to the port of Rotterdam, where the 450 tonnes weighing VLT will be installed on board an installation vessel.
Henk Breman, managing director of Breman Machinery said: “Obviously we are honoured that CAPE Holland has opted to make use of Breman’s flexible services and resources. We look back on an extremely cooperative collaboration.”
