Wind energy – IRM
During the first three months of 2021, Deutsche Windtechnik Netherlands signed four new contracts for inspection and maintenance of the balance of plant at four different offshore wind farms (OWF): Gemini Windpark, Prinses Amaliawindpark, Eneco Luchterduinen as well as the new Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm.
The scope includes monopiles and transition pieces of turbines and substations, both internal and external.
The new contracts underline the trustful and long-term relationship between Deutsche Windtechnik and the European utilities Vattenfall and Eneco, for which Deutsche Windtechnik has been providing service in the Netherlands for more than five years.
The works in OWF Gemini has begun in March and in July it will start in OWF Hollandse Kust Zuid, with durations of 12 and 18 months, respectively.
The agreements for Prinses Amaliawindpark and Eneco Luchterduinen will start in upcoming summer and will continue for five years. These contracts strengthen the long-term position of Deutsche Windtechnik in the Netherlands, especially from the port of IJmuiden, which will be one of the most important Dutch offshore wind ports over the next decade.
“We are very happy and also proud that we can take responsibility and carry out high quality inspections as well as maintenance work with optimised cost structures at these four Dutch offshore wind farms,” Niels Noordeloos, Business Development Manager Deutsche Windtechnik, said.
“IJmuiden is a perfect base of operations for our work in the Prinses Amaliawindpark, Eneco Luchterduinen and Hollandse Kust Zuid. Deutsche Windtechnik’s office and warehouse in IJmuiden is perfectly located at the quayside where inspectors and technicians board the crew transfer vessels. The works at OWF Gemini will be executed from the client DPII vessel operating out of Eemshaven.”
Geert Timmers, Managing Director Deutsche Windtechnik, added: “We want renewables to be successful as a competitive energy source in all aspects of safety and technology. Our service strategy offers the best synergies and cost optimisation to contribute to this.”
