Wind energy – Scotland
UK oil major BP and the German energy company EnBW will be taking part in the upcoming ScotWind seabed leasing round in Scotland.
BP and EnBW are calling for Scottish contractors to register their interest in potential offshore wind project work, should the pair be successful in the upcoming ScotWind licensing round.
They launched the supply chain portal on Tuesday, which BP said would act as a central hub advertising all current and future opportunities for sub-contractors and suppliers associated with any development projects, should the duo be successful in the ScotWind auction.
In particular they are encouraging companies based in Scotland, with significant operations in Scotland or that have plans to relocate their base or operations to Scotland to register interest for future opportunities via the online portal.
ScotWind is designed to open the way for the advancement of 10 gigawatts of capacity off Scotland and will include seabed conditions suitable for both floating and fixed-bottom developments. Applications to take part in the round close in mid-July.
