Sea trials SOV Groenewind

Wednesday, May 5 2021

DEME Offshore announced the successful full-scale sea trials of its first Service Operation Vessel (SOV), the DP2, twin-hulled Groenewind.

The 60 m vessel is equipped with a motion compensated gangway for the safe transfer of the technicians to the turbines, even in significant wave heights.

Groenewind has already been signed up for a multi-year contract with Siemens Gamesa, whereby the SOV will be deployed for the maintenance of SeaMade offshore wind farm in Belgium.

Thanks to captain Youri Sioen for sharing the photo.
