Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne and transmission system operators Litgrid signed a contract with a consortium of MEWO, Gdyni Maritime University and Garant Diving to perform a Baltic seabed survey for the planned Harmony Link cable route.
Harmony Link is an approx. 330 km long subsea cable power line that will connect the stations Żarnowiec in Poland and Darbenai in Lithuania.
It will be built in direct current HVDC technology and will allow transmission of energy with a power of 700MW.
The total cost of the Harmony Link project is approximately EUR 680 million, of which EUR 493 million will come from EU support under the Connecting Europe Facility CEF.
