KCI the engineers was involved in the design of the hose reel project for Dana Petroleum Netherlands for the supply of a direct offloading system (DOS).
The system consists of a hose reel complete with a spooling device, a hydraulic power unit and an auxiliary winch.
The DOS will be placed onto the F2-A-Hanze platform which is located in the Dutch sector of the North Sea. The F2-A-Hanze is a gravity-based production facility for oil and gas.
KCI the engineers was responsible for the structural scope of the project which is mainly the engineering and design of deck extensions on intermediate and lower deck in order to create space for the hose reel and handling facilities.
The impact of the deck extension & hose reel loads on the existing topside structure has been assessed to confirm that these are within the platform spare capacity.
Besides the structural scope KCI executed the piping – and process engineering scope which involves the pipe routing and design from the main deck to the hose reel for main lines and for hydraulic power lines.
