Annemie Vermeylen (56), Secretary-General of the Belgian Offshore Platform, has announced her resignation from the BOP as of 31 October 2020.
Annemie Vermeylen has been active in the sector since the early days of offshore wind energy developments in Belgium (2001). Specialising in international maritime law and renewable energy, and with experience in the first Belgian offshore wind farms, she was asked to lead the association of the offshore wind energy sector when the BOP was set up. Since then, the organisation and operation have been expanded. BOP is now even more on the map as an interlocutor and advocate for offshore wind energy, partly thanks to Annemie.
From Monday 2 November 2020, she will join the cabinet of the Federal Minister of Energy as Deputy Head of Cabinet. With this new professional challenge, she wants to use her expertise, experience and network to put Belgium on the track of the sustainable energy transition.
