At the end of June Maersk Drilling has secured a contract for the semi-submersible rig Mærsk Developer which will be employed by PETRONAS Suriname Exploration & Production for a one-well exploration campaign in Block 52 offshore Suriname.
The contract is expected to commence in Q3/Q4 2020, with an estimated duration of 75 days. The value of the firm contract is approximately USD 20.4m, including integrated drilling services, mobilisation and demobilisation fees. The contract includes an additional one-well option.
Mid-July Maersk Drilling has secured an additional one-well contract from Aker BP, acting as operator of the Tambar license in Norway, for the low-emission jack-up rig Maersk Integrator.
The work is expected to start in February 2021, Maersk added.
The contract has an estimated duration of 73 days and a contract value of approximately $18.5 million, excluding integrated services provided and a potential performance bonus.
