Iberdrola and Polish energy company Enea have signed a letter of intent to collaborate on the potential development of offshore windfarms in the Polish sector of the Baltic.
A statement from Enea said the companies are addressing the development of offshore windfarms with a capacity of up to 3.3 GW. Iberdrola has yet to comment on the agreement.
Enea said the move is part of its group development strategy, a key plank of which is transforming its generating assets and adopting renewables.
Enea is one of the largest energy companies in Poland and produces electricity, transmits it and sells it to homes and businesses in the country.
