The construction of Jan De Nul’s offshore jack-up installation vessel Voltaire has kicked off at the Cosco Shipping Shipyard (Nantong) in China with a steel cutting ceremony.
The 3,000-tonne lifting capacity vessel, which will be used primarily for offshore wind energy installation projects, will be able to operate at depths of 80 m and a has a payload of approximately 14,000 tonnes.
The installation vessel will also be used to support the oil and gas industry, as well as decommissioning projects.
