The Polish Ministry of Energy has prepared a bill to support the development of offshore wind energy in Poland.
It is the result of work and consultation with many partners, including sector and business representatives.
At the beginning of 2019, the Ministry of Energy began work on developing a dedicated act that aims to support the development of offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea. A wide range of partners interested in investing in this renewable energy sector were invited to cooperate in the preparation of regulations. The Ministry of Energy has prepared the final draft Act on the promotion of electricity generation in offshore wind farms, which is ready for further legislative work.
“I am convinced that the proposed regulations will significantly contribute to the future creation of a systemically formed offshore wind energy sector in Poland,” commented Minister of Energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski. “This is a necessary step for further legislative work, i.e. launching the process of public consultations and inter-ministerial arrangements. We hope that we will be able to launch them within 2-3 weeks,” added Kubów.
