Rotterdam-based Amphibious Energy has recently secured a contract for the delivery of two EnergyPods for the Wood Group in the UK.
This transportable, autonomous energy container is powered by a specialised offshore wind turbine, and provides platforms with renewable energy.
In this special case, the two 100% renewable power units will support a decommissioned platform in the Central North Sea with its load requirements until complete removal.
Offering the operator a simple ‘all in one’ plug-and-play system, the EnergyPod can provide continuous and/or peak loads for a platform, but also provides 24/7 remote surveillance monitoring. This includes wind speed, solar radiation, temperature, smoke detection and live video recordings. EnergyPods reduce operational costs by not only replacing the traditional diesel generators but also reducing the maintenance intervals.
EnergyPods can be lifted and assembled by a crane, or transported and assembled by helicopter.
