Vattenfall will use the port of IJmuiden as operation and maintenance base for Hollandse Kust Zuid 1&2.
Construction activities for a new service hub are planned for early 2022. The service hub will employ around 40 persons.
Vattenfall has opted for the Port of IJmuiden due to its convenient location near Hollandse Kust Zuid 1&2 and possible other future wind farms. It already uses the port for NoordZee Wind offshore wind farm.
The 700 MW Hollandse Kust Zuid 1&2 offshore wind farm is planned to become operational in 2023 at the latest.
The service hub will consist of an office, a warehouse for spare parts and a workshop. The building will be sustainable and self-sufficient where possible, featuring a green roof with solar panels and possible other sustainable solutions.
The service hub will also offer space for creating berths for service vessels (CTVs).
