According to the Cemre Shipyard, Turkey, Ørsted’s service operation vessel (SOV) Wind of Change has commenced sea trials.
SOV took 22 months to complete. It will be commissioned in May. Wind of Change is the world’s first vessel with diesel-electric propulsion, Dynamic Positioning (DP) 2 hybrid notation, making it the eco-friendliest SOV we’ve ever had and capable of accommodating more than 60 wind farm technicians.
Wind of Change will engage within German North Sea to service the Borkum Riffgrund 1 & 2 and Gode Wind 1 & 2 offshore wind farms.
