The UK Crown Estate has opened registration for a second market engagement event for a potential new offshore wind leasing round in the UK on Monday 26 November 2018.
The Estate is holding the event for a wide range of technical stakeholders, including government organisations, local authorities, statutory advisors, NGOs, and other interested organisations, to seek their views to present our updated proposals.
The first stakeholder event takes place on Thursday 15 November in central London. On Monday 26 November 2018 the Estate will be holding a second market engagement event for our potential new offshore wind leasing round. The session is targeted at potential leasing process participants, including potential newcomers to the market. We will share updates to our initial proposals following the engagement we undertook in summer 2018 and will also provide details on how we would propose to structure the tender process.
To attend, interested parties are invited to register their details here by Wednesday 14 November 2018. Places at this event are limited.
As managers of the seabed around England, Wales and Northern Ireland, The Crown Estate is working with the offshore wind sector and stakeholders over the course of 2018 to consider making new seabed rights available for offshore wind.
In line with Government and industry appetite for additional offshore wind capacity, and following the significant cost reduction demonstrated by the sector, we are working to explore the potential scale, location and nature of potential new leasing.
