Today, Wednesday November 15, Rusch Crane Services Middle East LLC (Rusch ME) has been awarded the contract for Replacement & Refurbishment of 23 overhead cranes at DAS Island in Abu Dhabi.
Rusch ME has been set up in September 2016 to achieve a full licensed crane service company that could introduce quality and expertise of Rusch bv from the Netherlands in crane inspection, maintenance and repair into the Middle East. With a local sponsor and the active help of the Dutch Embassy in the UAE Rusch managed to do just that.
Das Island is situated 110 km off the coast of Abu Dhabi and is an important hub for the export of oil and gas. The owner of Das Island’s oil refining operations, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). Local exporting companies include ADMA-OPCO (Oil), ADGAS (LNG).
The overall contract from ADGAS went to GOGAS/ACMT who in its turn subcontracted all crane related parts to Rusch ME. For Rusch this multi million contract will create 18 months of work.
All cranes are Atex zone 1 classified what makes the job special. The expertise of Rusch ME with the 30 years’ experience back up from the Dutch head office in Medemblik gave Rusch ME the advantage over its competitors.
Edin Mackic, the General Manager of Rusch ME, has set up a quality team of local crane service engineers. All local personal received training in the Netherlands. Together with the engineering back up and the back up of experienced service engineers from the Netherlands, Rusch ME was able to prove to ADGAS that the company is the best partner for this job.
The signing ceremony of the contract between GOGAS/ACMT and Rusch ME took place during the ADIPEC Exhibition in Abu Dhabi in the Rusch stand.
Work will start this month with the first site visit for the detailed engineering and work preparation. It is expected that Rusch will start in the first week of January 2018 with the actual refurbishment.
