Drydocks World Dubai has signed an agreement for two new projects with Bluewater Energy Service and end client Hurricane Energy.
Building on its track record of 32 conversion projects, the yard will undertake a repair, life extension and upgrade project on Floating Production Storage & Offloading (FPSO) vessel AokaMizu, which will be deployed in the Lancaster Field West of the Shetlands after completion. Drydocks World will also fabricate a turret buoy weighing more than 1000 tonnes for AokaMizu, to help the vessel to moor and weathervane at the field site.
Drydocks World’s chief operating officer, Mohammad Rizal, commented, “Our expertise and dedication to the highest standards in HSEQ will deliver enhanced FPSO performance and operational efficiency. This is the first time we are working with Bluewater Energy and Hurricane Energy and we look forward to building strong partnerships for future collaboration.”
Bluewater says it has selected Drydocks World on the basis of its track record, and the depth of understanding of the task ahead of them, in combination with the quality of its facilities and project organization. On-time completion of the upgrade project is essential, the company adds.
