Two offshore workers aboard Repsol Sinopec’s Fulmar platform sustained injuries yesterday evening after the platforms west crane boom collapsed onto the deck in an uncontrolled manner.
Two Enermech employees were injured in the collapse, with one requiring medevac to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) with a broken jaw, while the other worker sustained bruising in the incident.
The Fulmar platform has been shut down while an investigation takes place.
A spokesperson for Repsol advised that the cause of the accident is currently unknown, but that an investigation is underway.
The Fulmar platform is located 217 miles east of Dundee.
